Oliver Cojo is a partner at Arias SLP. He has served as arbitrator, counsel and tribunal assistant in more than 60 cases worldwide, administered by leading institutions such as ICC, ICSID, PCA, LCIA, SIAC and SCC. He only serves as arbitrator and tribunal assistant now. His practice mainly covers energy, infrastructure, construction and corporate transactions.
Oliver is ranked among Spain's recommended arbitrators by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500. He is also recognised by other international arbitration directories such as Lexology. He is an ICC YAAF representative for Europe and Central Asia. He served as co-chair of the young practitioners group of the Spanish and Ibero-American Arbitration Club (CEIA-40) from 2019 to 2020 and was a member of the host committee for ICCA Madrid 2026. He was involved in the p reparation of the IBA Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International Arbitration published in 2014 and is the author of the Spanish translation of the most recent version of such guidelines.
Oliver was a professor of arbitration at IE University from 2017 to 2026.
He holds a degree in Law and Business Management from University of Valladolid. He also holds an LL.M. from Maastricht University. He was admitted to the Madrid Bar in 2013. In addition to the languages he speaks, he reads and understands Portuguese.
