Professor Antonio Perdices is Of counsel at Arias SLP and a Professor of Commercial Law at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). He has over 30 years of academic experience. He served as Secretary General of UAM from 2017 to 2021, was a member of the working groups of the General Codification Commission that prepared the Draft Spanish Commercial Code and participated in the draft of the new Commercial Registry Regulations.
Professor Perdices is the author of several monographs and scholarly articles. He sits on the editorial boards of various journals on corporate and private law. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the UAM Research Center for Intellectual Property (CIPI) and co-director of UAM’s Expert Program on Corporate Governance and Acquisition Transactions. He has been principal investigator in three consecutive national research projects on the role of shareholders in the corporate governance of listed companies.
Professor Perdices also acts, independently of the firm, as an expert and arbitrator in corporate and contractual matters.
He holds a Law degree (with honors and extraordinary award) and an advanced degree in legal studies from Universidad Pontificia Comillas. He also holds a PhD in Law and a Dottore in Giurisprudenza from University of Bologna. He is an Honorary Member of the Association of Civil Law Professors and was admitted to the Madrid Bar in 2013. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian. He also reads and understands German and French.
